CLAUDIA ELLIOTT

Claudia Elliott is the creator and editor of OldPrisons.com. She brings an enthusiasm for history and travel to the project, along with more than 25 years of experience as a newspaper reporter and editor.

Her interest in prisons began when her father became a correctional officer when she was 11 years old. Later she worked at two maximum security prisons in California. She has great appreciation for community volunteers who work to preserve the history related to old prisons and jails, and hopes OldPrisons will provide a forum for them to exchange ideas.
