OLD ARCHER COUNTY JAIL, ARCHER CITY, TEXAS

203 E. Plum Street, Archer City, Texas

Built in 1909 and used by Archer County until a new jail was built in 1974. The three-story sandstone structure previously housed a jail museum, but is not currently open to the public. However, in February 2020 the building was purchased by a nonprofit organization, which expects to rehabilitate the structure and reopen the museum. Photo by Jimmy Emerson, DVM, via Flickr, used with permission.
