Bannack State Park, 4200 Bannack Road, Dillon, Montana (but actually is about 26 miles from Dillon)

There are two old jails in Bannack, Montana (now a “ghost town” at Bannack State Park). The jail pictured on the right in this photo is believed to have been built in 1863 and is considered Montana’s first jail. The second jail was built sometime in the 1860s and used until 1881.
